Are flowmasters good?

I was thinking aobut putting a flowmaster series 40 on my 92 explorer. I was reading up on them and read that they were one of the worst things to add to your exhaust. Is this ture? I've always heard good things about flowmaster (I know they arnt the best but the price is good).

They are a great muffler. For every 1 unhappy customer, there are 100 happy ones. You just hear about the bad ones, that's all.
