Well; I just got the Falcon home from a 10 pt. full roll cage, sub frame connectors, and other must have alterations to make the car legal for 8.50 E.T. I do not plan on going that quick, but just in case I get into the 9 second bracket, they can not throw me off the drag strip. I had them install a swing out bar so I can get in and out of the car. At this stage in my life, crawling over that bar is not an option. The next step is to change the drum brakes to disc.
Yes I will take a few pictures. Right now there is not much to show, because we had to completely gut the interior to install the roll cage. It originally had mustang bucket seats, but now I will install a aluminum racing seat for safety.
Hell what's a pretty inside pict worth anyhow? if it doesnt spell out the who, where and why of a cage install. Screw the pretty part, we're into the go fast & why/how, not just to look at the fashion side of -- stuff... LOL

Reason: better eXpLaMaTiOn!!
I bet your happy you did the full cage to spec. ***** to the walls racing! It's nice to photo document everything. I know it was a tough call for you on the full cage too. Being the interior is mint and all. But for what you want to do it's the right call. Keep all the original parts for a rainy day. I hear tubs are next? LOL.
Here are a couple of photos. The first one shows that the M/T drag slicks will not have any problem fitting in the wheel wells. I have not decided on what color to paint the car. I am leaning toward dark blue. I got a quote from the painter, ,,, sticker shock.. Prices sure have gone up on paint jobs. Oh well....
Cage looks really good. Very nice work. Yep paint work can get expensive no doubt. Average good jobs are $3-6K here. Better is $10-15k and super duper for $25k and up. You need to find a friend with a downdraft paint booth. Dark blue will look nice.
I was quoted $5,000. I guess that is cheap. I was around when Earl Shibe would paint any car any color for $19.95 LOL...
Way back then, my brother and I pooled our money and paid for our Grandfathers paint job on his truck. It was the deluxe paint job, and cost us $30.00
The last paint job I paid for was $2,000. So you can see how long ago that was.
Heck face it your paying for prep not paint. The painting even if several coats thick is a drop in the bucket compared to the prep. We need some daylight picts of the car Lloyd. I'm still wondering just how the he!! an FE slips in one of these LOL. Had a chance to get one a few months back for dirt cheap. Solid, but a lot was missing and the fabrication work involved in squeezing an FE in there looked beyond my present skill set.

The shock towers are removed, and a straight axle installed. There is tons of room now. Once I get the engine in, I'll take some pictures. That is the best way to see how much room there is.
