Fuel Problems?

I warmed the truck up this morning(16'F) After driving 3-4 miles fuel started pouring out of the Fuel/Water drain...I opened & shut the valve a couple of times and it seemed to stop. Although I think it may have a drip now.Anyone have any ideas what may have caused this ?

Thanks,
Chris

Welcome to FTE. The most logical explanation is that the lever wasn't fully closed and finally popped open enough to dump fuel. Is your current drip coming out of the tube attached to the drain, or is it leaking fuel on top of the motor? If there are any drips on the top of the motor, you probably just need to replace the o-rings in the drain assembly.

If that's the case, it's a $3 fix. Here's a link to the parts you need. Replacement O-rings for Diesel Engines
There is also an instruction sheet there on how to change them.

There are 4 bolts securing that lever to the fuel bowl, occassionaly they can loosen up causing the leak. Quick 5 minute check with an allen wrench.
