Aoto Enginuity question ?

I ran some data on my truck yesterday with some data that Im not sure about. Truck was running fine. Coming to work this morning i changed my DP tuner to the 80hp econo mode and when I started to excellerate it acked like it dropped 1 or 2 cylinders. Stopped and turned truck off restarted and it didnt clear nor did the ses light go out. Truck struggled all the way to work. Was going to plug my AE up to it when it happened but the battery was dead.Had to put it on charge so I can see what went on. If anybody could PM me with a phone number I would like to talk with you about what I did yesterday with the AE and see what your thoughts are . New with the AE and dont know if I did something that may have caused this problem ? Any other help would be great so maybe I can correct the problem for the drive home tomorrow. Thanks Dean

Pull the codes first and tell us what you came up with. I'm not aware of anything you can do with AE that would cause this.

I cleared the codes last night and the truck ran fine, did not drive truck just idle and throttle up. This morning when I left work started rough( loping ) for about 6-7 seconds then smoothed out , let warm up , about 15 min , soon as I put the selector in drive the ses light came on and it started running rough . Turned off , went through the code check and P0470 exaust pressure sensor and P1316 Injector driver module codes detected were shown . These were the same codes that came up yesterday morning that cleared and the same this morning that would not clear , I was able to get the truck home but what a rough ride , acked like I had dropped 1 or 2 cylinders . Any ideas ?

Sounds like it's time to pull the valve covers. Here's a link (with pictures) that goes through the same process.https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ck-shakes.html

I was just reading the posts from a search I did for the IDM and have alot of info to start checking , Im hoping it is just a loose uvc and not bad fuel , I fueled up about 15 miles before this all started .

Who could I talk to about the tests that can be done and what they are telling me with the Auto Enginuity . I have done some of the tests but not really that versed with it yet.

It would be easy to just drain the fuel bowl into a glass jar and have a look / smell for a quick test. See if there's anything obvious that way.

If you catch the engine running bad, you could do an injector buzz test, and if the engine is warm a CCT to find out which side the problem is on if it's connector related.

Dean,
Which battery wen dead? The truck or PC?

If it was the truck I could possibly explain some of the symptoms. PM sent, I'de be glad to talk with you and share what I know about AE.

Which test are you wanting to run? There is a tab at the top that says "Test on board Systems"

5 isn't great but I don't believe this is what is causing your symptoms. Make sure the engine was at normal op temps before running the test. Also, some recommend doing the cct with the truck in drive and the brake and/or emergency brake appled.

OK PC Battery.

It's not uncommon for the #8 to read between 3 & 5 with stock inj & fuel system.

Give me a shout if you like about the AE but I would do as chris suggested & check the UVC Harness also.

Edit: Does it react the same in any of the other tunes?

Yesterday morning I started out in the stock mode because of start-up in the cold after awhile I switched to 80hp econo mode and when I started to excellerate thats when it started wacking out Also the tunes have been making the truck a little " jittery" maybe precursor for what finally got worse enough to detect it .Getting ready to get into it and see what I can find . I will post back later . Thanks Dean
