The windshield seal on my truck leaks when it rains, and makes some pretty annoying wind noise as well. This has resulted in rusty floorboard, I just sanded all the rust down and painted, but I'd like to keep it from getting wet again!
My question is, am I safe with an LMC or NPD windshield seal? I do not know where the one came from that is on the truck, but it is for Chrome trim and it isn't installed. This may be why its leaking in the first place.
The Dennis-Carpenter seal is twice the price of the LMC and NPD seals. I am a bit weary though of getting one of the cheapos. Any experience with them?
I got mine from blue over and haven't had a problem with it other than a bi**h to put on. i've never done one of these before and didn't know to put the trim ring in before the window. other than that the quality is good
I like LMC but there is another one called BOTP (blue oval truck parts) seem to be a little cheaper on some things OH and let me know what you choose cause i am in need of all the seals all the way around my truck
I have the dennis carpenter catalog downloaded. I've ordered from them before, they have great quality parts, but they are expensive.
Generally for a rubber part I would rather get it from Dennis Carpenter, but the price is quite a bit steep, and I also need to order some other odds and ends. I can save about $100 buying from LMC.
I'll let you guys know how it goes, but I won't be getting the seal for at least another week with shipping and such.
I just took one out of a 1968 F100 which was like new. Must have just been installed before I got the truck. Happy to make you a deal on it. Give me a shout, Mike.
