Well, I think I might have purchased someone else's problem. I have asked about the high pitched whistle and now I have an oil leak. Just to remind everyone, I bought a used 2008 Ford f250 with the 6.4L diesel. I have an appointment with Ford on Monday to have it checked out but I have a few questions. Since I bought the truck used is there anyway I can figure out if the truck is chipped or tuned? I have no information on this and do not wanna take it to ford if it is. Also, can someone get me an oasis on my truck. Will that tell me what has been done to the truck at a ford dealership? If somone can help me the VIN on the truck is 1FTSW21R58EB79425. Can email me at anthonykerr AT insightbb.com. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I would think any good shop with a diagnosis computer could quickly tell of the PCM is in stock parameters or not. If it is a warranty issue I would definitely want to know before the Ford dealer does. Any chance of finding out how to contact the last owner?
I have been trying to get in touch with the previous owner. I have seen a carfax on the truck and is say a Ford dealership owned it till 10,000 miles, then is just says retitled but does not say who owned it from then to 42,000 when the car dealership I got it from bought it. I asked the dealership I bought it from and they say Ford owned it the whole time. I called the Ford dealership yesterday and sometime the dealership was sold so that might explain the retitling. I would hope if Ford owned it the whole time they would not have done anything to void the warranty later. I am calling the dealership on Monday to see if they have any records of owning it. I thought if I could get the oasis it would show if the truck was serviced by the same Ford dealership.
