Hawk HPS Pads

Hey guys

I ordered a set of Hawk front pads for my truck and they messed up my order and sent HPS and instead of LTS will they work just as good or will they do worse?

I'd send them back & get the LTS. From the description it sounds like they are a "performance" pad, not a compound for towing. They'll work, but if you tow at all, ever, I'd swap them.

Well crap I was really hoping to get these brakes done now. These are the ones they sent me
Hawk HB302P.700 SuperDuty Brake Pads, 1999 - 2003 Ford F-350 Super Duty

I will see if I can't swap them out.

Yep thats the ones and wow those are 20 bucks cheaper then the place I bought these from that were wrong. I guess I will send these back and see if the feller will price match. The feller said he sent me Superduty pads but these say HPS on the side. If they are Superduty pads would they work?

The SuperDuty pads are for heavy/constant towing, and a different compound!

HPS = "street racer" pads
LTS = everyday with some towing pads
SuperDuty = constant/heavy towing pads

funny thing, but the HPS pads aren't even on Hawk's "TRUCK" pads webpage. Have him send a call tag & get a full refund including shipping unless he is willing to send you the LTS pads.

I got to looking they are Superduty pads how would they hold up to just regular braking and some towing. He said he would swap out for the LTS pads if I wanted them.

Well if the superduty pads are built for heavy towing and the LTS pads are built for light trucks the Superduty pads should last and stop better.

Thats what i would assume. I got these lifetime pads from auto zone, hard to pass up swapping for nothing. Would like to upgrade though, their great pads. Can you upgrade to Hawk pads with the stock rotors(pending their in good shape) or is it better to change out for new rotors also???

It used to be very popular on here to do hawk pads with powerslot rotors. I haven't had them myself but if you use search you can find dozens of reviews of this combo.
That being said I would just run the stock rotor maybe get them turned if they look nasty

I would upgrade to some powerslots but they are pricy and I am out of funds after I repair this injector and put new batteries in the truck.

I am swaping them out for LTS pads after reading around a bit apparently these are for heavy duty trucks like 450s and up.
