Grp Question...
ok so i bought a cole hersee brand relay (24059) and its a continious duty 85amp..so it is open the whole time the pcm tells it to be..my question is.. the napa, ford and all the other oem relay are a little different they stay open for 10sec then close for 30sec then open back open..soo my question, is my continious duty gpr fine?? its open the whole time the pcm has it grounded through the small wire?? i dont want to burn the glow plugs out but the continous brand seems alot smarter..

Are you sure the OEM GPR opens and closes like that? The glow plugs are only on for a max of 2 minutes, so if it shut off for half a minute every 10 seconds, you wouldn't end up with any power to the glow plugs.
All the OEM ones I've tested stay on for whatever time the PCM tells them to then click off, no cycling at all. The continuous power when commanded on is how there supposed to work, so no worries about your glow plugs.

ok thanx man i just didnt wanna burn up glow plugs and i did talk to echlin the people that make them for napa and they said it open for 10sec and has 100amps then closes for 30sec and so on soo maybe you guys might want to look into a continious duty relay like i got..it was 10 below last night and i didnt plug my truck in and it sat for 10hrs and fire up first try
