Anyone use one on their truck? I'm looking into getting one since my truck doesn't get driven daily anymore, hell, it hardly gets driven weekly. Any suggestions on brand/model? Thanks.
I use 2 Battery Tenders from Batterymart.com. Two collectors cars, camper and F350 garage queen. Batteries stay charged and last longer. Good investment.
Good luck.

I dont know if you have a "Harbor Freight" near you. They have 1 for about $14.00. They run a sale and they get reduced to $4.99. I buy a bunch. Once in a while I get a bad one and they take it back no qeustions asked.
I have been using them for years. (street rod, 4 wheeler, tractor) ect.
I will second the 800mA waterproof one. I installed it on-board the truck, and wired it to the block heater plug. I included a switch to disable the block heater and run just the tender, for warmer weather.
for those that are using a battery tender with dual batteries, do you have one for each bat or have it wired to both and if so how did you do it, pics?
I've got a 2011 F-350 diesel ordered and coming in about a month (i hope). I was told that the dual batteries are in parallel and its a 12 volt system. Battery Tender told me they reccomend the 5A charger. One lead on battery #1 negative and the other lead on battery #2 positive. Does that make sense to anyone?

Its cheap, and it works fine.
I've got five batteries being maintained by those cheap chargers without issue. Must say they do work well.

Yes the batteries are in parallel, make sure that charger has a "float" operating mode. Charger Negative lead on battery #1 negative post, Charger Positve lead on battery #2 positive post...just to make sure you are clear on polarity.
I had my truck parked for a month on several occasions and it always started. ... unless I forgot to switch off the liftgate controller
Battery "minders" are one of the most misleading names. It tells you absolutely nothing what it is. What you need is a charger with floating circuit, that will charge the battery to about 13.5V and keep it there.
Harbor Freight is having those on sale for about $4.70
Make sure you get a good Battery Tender. Be weary of trickle chargers, they will continue to add a charge even when the battery is already fully charged resulting in the battery going bad due to over charging.
Battery Tender is a very good brand with great customer service. I have two, one on my dirt bike and another on my bass boat.
