Transmission Troubles
I have a 79 f-100 with an auto transmission. I recently been having problems with the transmission. You can feel the transmission shift through the gears but it will only drive in reverse. Any suggestions what might be wrong?

What trans? fluid check? filter plugged? Condition of fluid will give you an idea whether or not to drop pan..I know on a C-4 if fluid (Type F) is low it will only work in rev. Could try band(s) adjustment. If all fails- new trans.

If your fluid is full make sure you smell it. If it smells burnt time for repairs. As far as how much it holds you better make sure what it is first then look in any older ford manual and you should be able to find it.
