I would like to do some upgrades to my truck I would like to stay more on the conservative side here is what I was thinking. I want to go with a 4"turbo back MBRP system that retains the fact. cat. a CFM plus large mouth intake kit with the inter cooler pipe. I would prefer to stay away from messing with the computer chip. I already have a K&N fipk kit on it which seems to work well my therory was let the diesel breathe in & breath out. I would also like to put a pyrometer gauge on it using the single pillar pod (so I can retain my drivers side grab handle) where do you mount the probe for the gauge? CFM has 2 kinds od intake elbows 1 with drilled & tapped ports & 1 without. any input on this would be appreciated thanks
The EGT probe gets drilled and tapped into the manifold before the turbo. I've only done one, for Edge's Juice with Attitude. Edge recommended drilling the hole about half way, then turning the engine on and finishing the hole. The idea being that the exhaust would blow the shavings out and away from the turbo.
I don't know about the pipe. I haven't looked very closely at the pipes to remember if you need any holes. Although, you already have the K&N kit. If your concerned about the filtering quality, you can cross reference another filter to it's fit.
I would consider a mild tune. You don't have to get 100hp, just reworked fuel and shift data for a couple of HP and better driveability.
