Just wanted to try to help you... From research on other threads it seems to me that no a c6 from a 400 won't bolt up to a 390. You have to find a c6 that is from anothe FE motor. Then apparently there is a whole other can of worms dealing with the output shaft and such. Good luck man.

I just actually did the output shaft swap last month. The 75 in my signature had a c6 with some busted edges where the bolts go in to bolt it to the engine. Well, I found another FE c6 that was 2 wheel drive and gutted it, and put it back together with my output shaft. Worked out good. Numberdummy squared me away on that one.
