Cam Question????

I'm rebuilding my 360 in my "71 F-250 4x4 and was thinking of "Waking it up" a bit but nothing extreme. I just bought a set of rebuilt heads (D2TEA-A) and was wondering what the max. safe cam lift is with those heads? (the heads are rebuilt to stock specs)

Wonder if the FE forum would get better results?
I'm the dumbest guy on FTE. :/

Valve seat inserts are the way to go too.

Anyway I was mostly interested in low end power and good idle more than
anything else and went with a "Comp Economy Cam" 252/252 as opposed
to the "Comp RV Cam" the 260/260. I was running pretty low RPMs at the
time too.

What transmission, tire size and axle gear ratio/s you got? :)

Headers are supposed to do more for FE's than anything else but I don't
want headers. :/ But I did figure out that the original Y pipe that came with
the pickup was crap(!) and fixed in inside and felt like I got a couple extra
cylinders with that modification. :)

http://www.panix.com/~alvinj/file12/exhaustY.jpg

It was a "y" now it's more like a "Y".
But the hole was small and ragged, now it's like a header's collector inside.
That's one of my favorite modifications to my pickup. :)
And it was cheap and easy too, just did it while I had the transmission out.

285/75 16's 4:10 axles and a new process 435 I'll have 9.5:1-10:1 compression stickin with the 360 crank I actually just picked up a Edelbrock intake and carb out of the paper for $150.00 I'm pumped on that!!! I don't think I'll use it though but Ebay seems to be a promising place for it!!!! Anyway yeah, I don't want to be a victim of "Coil Bind" so thats why I'm here? I can't imagine this engine ever gettin pushed real hard so lower and mid rpm's more than high meaning idle to 3500 rpm would be good!

"...I'll have 9.5:1-10:1 compression stickin with the 360 crank..."

Cool! :)

It's about time someone built a 360FE like they knew what they were doing. ;)
It's going to kick butt! :)

Doggonit I don't know anything about coil-bind and cams that way. :/
But, many times on the FE forum, the guys that do know quite a bit,
often suggest calling Competition Cams' hot line.

I think this is one of those times. ;)

It was easy for me, I just wanted something one step above 1965 stock. ;)

It's a dent-side on the outside but more like a bump-side underneath. ;)
