I just failed in a 92 F150 with origional cat, no mufflers, and y-duals after cat. I had a 1.49 and i needed a 1.20 at 2500rpm. what should or could i do to pass. I'll do anything. thanks
Well, I bet by fixing the actual problem, you will pick up more power if the engine is working properly and efficiently. So if you have the time, do a tune up with plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and see where that takes you. Also replace the o2 sensor. Those are things you probably need to replace eitherway, so why not do it.
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
That's it for mods now, saving for a Stang. Check out my Gallery for a look-see.
HI
you can try this. Run your gas tank to about 1/8 tank and dump in 2 bottles of methanol (drygas) or some isopropyl alcohol derivative. What this will do is oxygenate the exhaust some and fool their testing machines into thinking that you are actually leaner than what you really are! AS SOON AS YOU ARE DONE TESTING THOUGH, BE SURE TO FILL UP YOUR TANK AGAIN TO DILUTE THIS MIX. if you do this, im curious how you make out! post your results!

Ben
I have a 86 F250 351W and the previous owner removed his smog pump and all related items to the smog pump. The owner added a cat. I have no idea if it will pass or not. I am only going to use the truck in the winter to plow out a trucking co. I have been toying with the idea of not registering the truck. Here once you register, they send a notice to get checked. I was just going to slap some snow on the plate and not get stopped...
