Engine Light On?

I've got a 1996 F-150, 302 V-8 that has had a the engine light on for over two years. In Janauary of every year I try to address this engine code in order to get my inspection sticker. The code we keep getting is P1351 which equals an IDM circuit input fault. I've changed all kinds of stuff. I'm hoping someone esle has had the issue and can lead me in the right direction to fix it.

What color is your ignition module. I know it probably sounds like a strange question but there were two flavors, a grey and a black, and they cannot be interchanged.

The ignition module(TFI) will be mounted in a heatsink on the fender. The pic below shows it on a pre '96 F150 but your module will be similarly located. You won't find the Diagnostic self test plug as shown though, yours is under the dash instead of in the engine bay.. one of the differences between OBD-1 and OBD-2 trucks.

Thank You

Thanks, for the replies. I will not be able to check the color until my daughter gets back from college. I hope you can hang in there until then.

Thanks Again,
