ok guys i got a 2000 f350 powerstroke with auto hubs (junk), ok with the hubs in the auto position i have vacum lines disconnected i can turn the passenger side axle at the u-joint by hand, but when i come over to the drive side axle i cant turn it at all is that normal?? i'm not getting any noise at all when both hubs are in auto now on the other hand when i turn the hubs to the lock position and transfer case in neutral i am getting a very loud humming and alot of vibration once i hit 40mph?? and its defintly seems louder than normal and seems to be holding my truck back a bit?? and finally when i shift my transfer case to 4hi i get a thumping noise up front the 4wheel is working fine i just cant seem to figure out the noise?? any help would be appreciated...

Check the u-joints on the front d-shaft, and the u-joints on the axle shafts. When the axle is turning the vibes could be from a shaft.
You have a 2000, so spend a bit of coin to drop in Warn hubs, and at least you're hubs won't hang up again like the drivers side one is doing.

ok tore the hubs out found one was hanging up, but then tore down the whole hub assembly down and couldnt find anything at all i guess i'm down to seeing if the new warns help tomorrow or i'm taking the front shaft off and going to check all the universals anybody else have any ideas, i never thought tho i dont get a bit of chatter untill i lock the hubs i get a vibrations and when i shift the TC to 4x4 its thumping, but like i said in 2wd not a bit of noise
