rusted glow plug
On my 1987 6.9L I have a rusted glow plug that does not have the edges left on it to use a socket to remove it. There is not really enough room for vise grip pliers. Does anyone know how to remove this glow plug? I have also had to put in inline fuses for both wires feeding the glow plugs. What size fuse do I need to use for each wire?

One real good secret about taking out GP's is to run the motor for about 5 min before trying to remove them, that might help you just a little bit. I got a set of hammer on wedge style sockets for rounded bolts that might work for a situation like that.

i would try to find a set of deep socket extractors.i got a set of shallow ones from harbor freight.i just looked for the deep socket ones but couldnt find them.but you may try autozone or maybe sears

It is the 3rd glow plug from the front on the drivers side. I had a direct short in the glow plug feed wires and it burnt them in two and I have now lost the fuseable links that were in the factory wires.
