I'm building a 514 for stock trucks pulls and it going to have around 650 horse and I need to figure out what size exhaust to use. I was thinking about 3" or maybe 3.5". The headers are the problem because I can't find headers for my truck with 2 inch tubes and 3.5" collectors if I could I would run 3.5" with flowmaster mufflers
I thought about making the headers because I work at a exhaust shop but I'm not sure about doing that yet
Yeah I was thinking you should make your own. That way you could makes some nice thick flanges and not worry about leaks, plus you'd have exactly the tube size you want. As for pipe size, I'd say 3.5. Sounds like a really cool project, keep us informed okay?
Summit or Jegs sells weld up header kits with like 3-4" tubes and just run turndowns, probably would sound really loud and scary. Enough to scare the Chevys back home.
