Did the "highboys" sit level when they were new? On mine the front sits about 3 or 4 inches lower that the back. I haven't actually measured it so that's just a guess. I didn't know if that's normal or if my front springs are sagging that much.
most trucks no matter what brand sit 2 inches higher in the back than the front. that's the reason for a leveling kit. like Ben said it's probably time for some new springs. those springs are 32 years old.
By the way, nice rig Fordworth!! I drive a 97 W900L daycab. It's a needlenose wish it had the classic hood.
Thanks, that an '86 W900B with a '97 Cat in it. It's for sale because I bought a '99 W900L heavy haul tractor.
By the way my '02 Superduty had a 2" rake when it was stock too.
there arent any leveling kits for these trucks right?? if im right the only way to fix the extreme rake problem would to just get newer springs then??? to get it in the acceptable 2" area...
I originally leveled mine with longer shackles that I made. It's cheap and easy but throws the pinion angle out of whack, especially with a LP diff. Nothing that a shim can't fix.
