Starter Cable Diagram

I have a 2005 F150 5.4, and replace the Starter Twice and the Batt etc... I have figured out that my cables for the starter are corroded, and is preventing starting intermitantly... They told me I need to buy a whole harness?? Sounds BS, looks like they bundle everthing togeather for a cleaner look, but can I just run a new pos/neg down to the starter??? and does anyone have a diagram of how they actually run?? If anyone can help me it would be really great.

I thought the relay and the silonoid were built into the starter??? Apparently the silonoid is only built in... Where is the relay located in a 2005 f150 5.4???

The relay is in the central junction box, behind the kick panel. Location RELAY 01.

Sure, it's possible. How do the cable connections look? Any corrosion will cause an intermittent problem.

You should wait until it happens again and run some jumpers. If it works replace the cables with the correct part number from the dealer. If that's cost prohibitive, I'd run my own.
