hello im new, glad to be here. Was wondering if you guys could help me with a problem. Noticed this the other day, and was wondering what caused it? also how do i go about fixing it. I do not have much experience with front end work and could use some help on how to fix this. Thanks in advance. Oh and incase this is needed, its a 2004 F-250 Sport
I'm no expert either...but. That is the trucks front sway bar. I would say the bushing is bad. I have read on here where people have used a large area washer to "re-capture" the bushing in the mount. Either way, go to NAPA and get new bushings. Easy. Also, lots of folks on here recommend using an aftermarket poly urathane (sp) bushing. While the bar is disconnected do you notice a ton more body roll when cornering?
Man, I can't believe that it just popped out like that, I had to work mine so hard to get them out when I replaced the bushings. Best bet is to order a bushing kit from energy suspension and go with all poly bushings, shouldn't have this problem again with them.
If you want to replace the sway bar end links and the bushings on the sway bar, here is the procedure on how to do it. If you don't have a pres you can use a socket and BFH, hammer, to push them out.
Here is what he used and the best deal on them I've found. They are higher than they were before, I picked them up 6months ago for $33!
Here is another kit, pretty much exact that will fit to. But those are the part numbers.
