I almost got stuck today due to my crappy tires, but the 4x4 won't engage. I have the hubs locked. I did have the passenger side hub off a few weeks ago. I had to turn it with a wrench. Is it possible I put it on wrong? I have never used the 4x4 since I've only owned the truck about 2 months at most.
Like 4x4Bart said jack it up and spin each wheel and look for the u-joint to turn when hub is in locked position. I think you can put the red "****" in wrong. When your reassembling the hub its in the locked position so when you put the chrome cap and "****" on it should be in locked position. No matter how many times I've taken my hubs apart I alway line up the parts as I take them out and put them back in reverse order.
