Special plug socket?
I searched the forum and can't find another post like this so here goes.
I can't get a socket on the #4 spark plug. The socket hits the exhaust maniflod and won't go all the way on. I broke the old one in half and then the socket fit on it just fine and was able to remove it quite easily.
I started the new one by hand easy enough but once hand tight the socket won't go on the nut part (whatever you call it). It goes right up to it but hits the manifold.
I don't really want to run it hand tight and none of the parts houses seem to have ever heard of this happening before. I'm positive the I didn't cross thread it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have time since I'll now be replacing all of the plastic vacuum lines that I broke.
Thanks!

I did get it tight but just took an old socket and ground it down till it fit.
The suggestion about cleaning the threads is a great one too. I always blow the bank off before I remove any plugs and being a plumber by trade, I have found a copper fitting brush to be ideal for cleaning the threads.
Thanks again!
