PBR. Never drank one. Had a room mate in the Army that drank it. He was from Ravenswood.
He told me a funny story about his 71 Plymouth Scamp. It was a hot car. He had slips from the drag strip for around 10.3 seconds in the 1/4 mile. Built 340, big block 4 spd. (because the small block units tore up in it) and a cut down GTX rear end under it (because he tore up the original.) It had extra leafs in the rear springs, cut down front springs, N50/15s on the back that stuck out under the fenders. A hole in the hood for the tunnel ram and 2 four barrel carbs., etc., etc.,etc. He said he got about 5 or 6 mpg out of it and couldn't make it all the way home to Ravenswood from Ft. Myer without stopping a time or two to drink beers and let it cool down.
His girfriend lived across the river in OH. One night he was driving over to see her and as he crossed the bridge the blue lights came on and he got pulled over. Two cops in a black and white. One teenager in a car with out of state tags. He said he got six tickets and was told to never drive that car across the bridge again or it would be towed and impounded and he'd be in jail.
The tickets:
1. Front bumper too low at about 12" off the pavement (forgot to add he had a set of the 13" 5 lug wheels off a 6 cylinder dart from the early/mid 60's to help drop that front end)
2. The yard stick the OH cops used to measure bumper height was too short to get an exact height on the rear bumper but they estimated it at 41" off the pavement.
3. The quarter they dropped off the rear fender landed in the 3rd groove in from the outside of the tire so the tires stuck out too much.
4. the tunnel ram, two 4 barrel carbs and the air cleaners stuck up and obstructed vision of the driver
5. I can no longer remember what the fifth ticket was for??? (maybe too loud?? He had the ends cut off drive shafts and had them welded up to the exhaust in the back to improve the sound)
6. He had six empty PBR cans bolted to the top of the front bumper and they said that obstructed the view of the turn signals and head lights.
I went out to the parking lot by Sumerall Field and looked and the holes in the top of the front bumper were still there.

An Avon lady walks up to the door and rings the doorbell just about that time rips a big one. She hurries up and digs in her bag and sprays some stuff in the air, a guy answers the door and says holy cow what's that smell? The Avon lady says what's it smell like? Well, it smells like someone chit on a Christmas Tree!
