5 speed transmission interchangability

Reverse gear is out on my 95 F350 4wd with a diesel. When I put a pto drive on it last spring, the drive people told me that I had a gas gear in there. I assumed I had a complete tranny off of a 460? Do the transmissions interchange between the 2 engines or are there signicant differences?

Last I knew the 351 and the 7.3 were not interchangeable. However, I've do not know about one off a 460 bolting up to a 7.3.

Well, unless you can change bell housings.

Diesels are an animal all by them selves, gasser trannys will not bolt up.

Too bad you're so far away. I've got a spare ZF5 from a PSD sitting in my barn that I really don't need or want.
