1978 steering wheel
Ok, i've looked in the paint / bodywork forum but didn't find the information that I was looking for. Has anybody "reconditioned" their steering wheel from their 70's ford truck? Mine was not cracked, just had small pits in it from getting hit by maybe tools, etc. I did some reading online and found out the wheels are made from Bakelite (mixture of sawdust and Cyanide!) lol. Anybody repainted theirs? What type of paint or covering did you use (a steering wheel wrap is not a valid answer on this show truck! lol)
BTW: mine is currently sanded with 1000 grit paper to get the small nicks and blems out. Now just need to get it back to shiny gloss black. What should I do now?
