Hey all you Ex. drivers,,,I been thinking about and looking online to see what one of these Beast's are going for $$.. I have seen them down to about $4,000,,,anyway,,what is the wheel base on these Excursion's ?
Overall dimensions ? Comparing to what F-250,, CC short bed,,SC, Long bed or what ??
Everyone I have seen is ESOF,,did anyone ever see a Manual shift and hubs Ex.?
Strongly recommend you take the time to review the past comments on this Forum. What you will find, is that we are all pretty happy with our vehicles.
Yes, there are some technical issues, depending on year, engine, and drive line choices. I personally have never seen one with a manual transmission; (frankly, not clear why you would want one, given the superb history & flexibility of the automatics).
STRONGLY recommend you do what I did - was fortunate in finding this forum BEFORE I made my purchase. This forum summarizes the experience and advice of a LOT of Excursion operators. With a background of going thru the various "posts", you will be well-positioned to 1) make a good choice and 2) make such INTELLIGENT technical changes as needed to suit your personal requirements.
I have a plow on my "X". Just went out and put it on as we are suppost to get 3-6" snow tonight. Great plowing in it, but of course the visibility is a little opstructed unlike a pickup. No complaints about mine! I will post pictrues as soon as i can
We get some on C.L. every now and again in Phoenix for around 4,000 to 9,000g's but they look like they may be going back up in price as people stop trying to dump them.
OK men thanks,,just what I wanted to find out,,I plow now with my SC, shortbed with a cap on it,,think it 142" wheelbase,,so as far as switching to an Excursion for a work truck,,crew cab, remove 3rd seat,,no cap needed, cardboard down first, then either a piece of plywood, or some company must make a liner for the back of them,,,should make a nice Rig,, if I decide to go this way.
Thanks,,,,,,,,Mark
I bought my Excursion while I was re-building my home after Katrina. I can not tell you how much furinture and building supplies I moved. People could not belive how much stuff fits in the back of one. Love Mine.
