Got a 92 F150 with a 302. Has 195,000 relatively untouched miles. For the last several months, it has developed a miss that I can't seem to figure out. When truck has completed acceleration up to around 50 mph and I let off gas to speeds between 34 and 45 mph, I get this very distinctive miss. I have also noticed this when topping out on top of a hill or mountain and just cruise between those same speeds and while towing (boat) and come down a hill to level ground. Sometimes I can feel it at idle at a stop light. Figured it would get worse and make it easier to figure out but this miss has remained consistent. Replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter. Thoughts and/or advice??? thanks, fficeffice" /><O></O>
Okay, if you got no codes try it again. Something probably wasn't connected right. Check the procedure at www dot fordfuelinjection dot com. They are the best I've seen. If you still get no code you need a new computer. The latter is uncommon and should never be a starting point. I would also be checking the stupid simple things like vacuum lines, where the upper intake meets the lower intake, and the where the lower intake meets the heads. These are all common spots for vacuum leaks. Also check the EGR valve's operation. With the engine running pull the vacuum line off of it and cap the line. If the engine smooths out you found your problem. Replace the EGR valve and Sensor with DEALER PARTS ONLY.
Have your checked your coil? I noticed you replaced everything else that makes sense would cause the problem, about the only thing that would do that would be the coil.
My wife's van does the same thing, codes be damned cause we dont get squat, I thought the same thing you did, but no luck, finally out of desperation we replaced the coild packs (2.4L V6) and poof problem solved. Then the old school dad of mine makes me feel really good when he said that would have been his first check, love you too dad.
I aint sayin keep throwing money at it, just it makes sense if it is the coil.
