I was wandering what it would sound like to run 2inch straight pipes off of the headers and then run that into about a 3 foot long tip with the diameter of about 3.5 inches. Would it give it a clean deep sound? thats what my friends jeep has except he has pipes off the headers that are about 4 inches in diameter and about 3 foot long. It is loud and has a deep rumble to it.
Damn... your looking for some 3 foot tips. Longest I've ever seen are 24". And on what engine are you going to run 2" piping on?? Seems too small for a V8...would have too much backpressure...
Anyhow... I'd look at summitracing.com, jegs.com, or bigexhaust.com for some nice tips.

That will be EXTREMELY LOUD if you are talking about running 2.25" piping and some 3'x3.5" tips right off the headers...The tips should deepen up the tone a bit. I have a 3.5" tip coming out in front of my pass rear tire and I wish I'd have gone with a 4" tip now (3.5 looks too small). What engine is this going on??

It's on a 302. I ran straight pipes for a while that were shotguned right behind the cab. It was loud but not the tone i wanted. It was a loud raspy tone, not a deep rumble like i wanted. So if i stoped the 2.25 pipes about in the middle of the cab and ran it into some 3.5 inch 3 foot tips what would it sound like. I bet it would give it a deep rumble.
