Fuel In Coolant

I had truck to dealer with fuel in degas bottle dealer pulled heads, sent them out to check for cracks and replaced head gaskets and head injector cups. They flushed the coolant system and then I flushed it approximently 4 more times at home, but i think fuel is still getting into the system any ideas from anybody or is there a test the dealer could do to see if the new cups are leaking?

The only place, where fuel could get in to the coolant system is in the heads at the injectors. My first idea would be injector O rings, but if they replaced the cups on them, I guess they checked/replaced those too...

I had the same prob a few months back. I had both heads replaced and they flushed the coolant system and gave it back to me. I popped the cap off the degas bottle and it still smelled like diesel. I pulled the drain plug and ran water through the system for aprox and hour. It got a lot better but still has a faint diesel odor. That diesel is stickly like oil so it doesent mesh well with coolant and water and is going to want to stick to everything. I wouldn't worry about it unless the level of your degas bottle goes up. That's how I discovered the prob initially. My degas bottle would overflow and reeked of diesel. I would just flush the **** out of it and keep an eye on it. Good luck!

Hi valley, use cascade liquid dishwasher detergent and any oil in the system will break down and then open the drain and put a hose in the degas bottle and let it idle that way for about 20 min. thats what you do on a semi. when the oil cooler goes out. If that dosent work make the dealer check it again.
