I'm the proud new owner of a 2004 F250 Supercrew with a 6.0L PSD. Everything works except it won't shift into low range. From what I've read on here these trucks have issues with the ESOF if not used on a regular basis. I'm thinking its probably some thing simple, maybe a fuse or relay but seeing as how it didn't come with the owners manual I don't know where to start looking. Any help would be appreciated.
The brake pedal must also be pressed and the truck has to be completely stopped.
My routine is to throw it in neutral and let the truck roll a little bit (6") so nothing's bound up. Wait until the truck comes to a complete stop, flip the switch, clunk (my case engaging), continue to have fun.
For me, this is all much easier to do if I'm already in 4H. For some reason, going from 2wd to 4L seems to be all too much for my truck to comprehend.
Mine says to engage the brake, shift to neutral then engage the esof to get into 4 low (not sure where you are supposed to hold your tongue-as in not holding your tongue right). Might take a few seconds to engauge. rugerman
