Grrrrrrrrrr.........

Not my day.

I started out by posting a note here about some broken links in the FAQ.

Later I found the instructions to report FAQ errors via email, so I did that then came back here to delete the original post. Although the software button SAYS "edit/delete" the post, it would only let me edit it.

Since then I got the bounce message back on the original email report saying "message to <monsta@clubfte.com> was undeliverable - No such user here'" So I came back here thinking I would re-edit my earlier post to re-list the broken links.

But now the software won't let me edit my own original post (yes, I'm logged in).

So, here's the original information about the bad links in the FAQ:
All three links provided as answers to "Q: How do I modify my fog lights
to: 1. Keep fogs on with brights? 2. Use the fogs when only the parking
lights are on? (newer trucks are equipped with that feature)" are
broken.

And, of course, I suppose I should add that the "email" button where you are supposed to send an email to Monsta about FAQ errors is also an error.

I noticed those broken links too. There are a few more there too. The mods should go through the list and check them out. I feel your pain about the vanishing edit button. Another strange quirk I have found here and on no other forum I frequent.

The vanishing edit button is because there is a certain amount of extra space in the database required to keep the privs for the user to edit their own posts.

There is a timeout to reclaim that space.

Why? Because the system got so HUGE that it actually became a liability in terms of resources to keep track of it.

I would bet the other forums you frequent are no where near the size of this site, or that the administrators have no idea what the ramifications of it is.

OK, just checked things out.

The FAQ is hosted on Monsta's personal web page, which is no longer supported here at FTE. I can not edit it, and neither can Monsta.

I am going to take the time to rewrite it as a thread and reference that thread instead of Monsta's personal web page, but it will take some time.

I will post back here when I'm finished.
