Guages go dead...

Guages go dead...
When i am driving, my guages will out of nowhere flip over and go dead. They go back on after about a minute. Also the radio is shutting off, i guess i could say the truck is losing power but stays running. It regains power after about a minute. Could this be the alternator going?

You were all right guys. It started doing it real bad today and finally just quite on me. The motor was running but i had no lights, no radio, no gauges, no windows or locks. So i lock under the hood for some reason and notice that the plug going to my alternator with the two wires in it was completly unplugged. Plugged it back in and everything came back on!
