Check your Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). It's at the end of the wire that goes to your rear differential (the VSS is the part that is actually attached to the differential). It may be loose, need to be cleaned, or replaced. Typically they just get fouled up or are loose, so a couple minutes of cleaning and fiddling with them will take care of the problem.

I've had an ABS light a couple of times. First time I needed new rear wheel brake cylinders. Second time, just recently, was when I had the bed off the truck. When I put it back on a connected the wiring harness to the tail lights, the ABS light went out.

I've got an 87 F150.

Also had a bouncing speedo on my 77 Bronco. Replaced the cable and it corrected the problem.

Well, the difference is that your symptoms are a bit different, and he has some symptoms specific to what I described. His truck has an electronic speedo--yours is mechanical. The ABS light AND the bouncing speedo points to the VSS in his truck. It COULD also be a loose connection in the dash at the PSOM (the module that controls the speedo/odo), but the sensor in the rear end is more commonly the problem.

He doesn't have a speedo cable in his truck--it's electronic.
