Clutch question

I have a 89 F250 w/ 351 5 speed. The clutch has started slipping and I just put one in it about 20000 miles ago. I took it out and eveythings looks good. I did not have any problem changing gears but it was slipping going up the road. could this problem be a bad pressure plate? I hate to replace eveything if I dont have to..

Certainly could be a weak pressure plate. Did you notice the force to push the pedal down getting any less? Are you sure you got the correct friction disc and pressure plate for the truck? Did you have plenty of free play in the clutch pedal?

if it did have plenty of free play in the clutch pedal what would that mean?

It`s more if you didn`t have free play it would mean that the clutch hydraulic mechanism could be holding the clutch "on" slightly. This could cause clutch slip.
