Bill ND's slick

Sorry, I do not post pics of my old piles on the internet...I'd like to keep them.
Too many people make the same mistakes over and over again.
They take pics of vehicles with the license plates exposed, they take pics in front of their homes with house numbers and street signs visible.
Thanks to the internet, it's now possible to trace the license number to your name and address.
With visible street sign(s) and/or a house address, Google Earth is all one needs to find out exactly where you live.
Thieves troll the internet looking for things to steal...
Best place to take pics...a local park with only nature in the background.
And BLOCK OUT the license plate numbers!

Inside a generic parking garage works well also.
I don't think Bill is wrong for being justifiably concerned about theft (identity and material). But I also know plenty of people here (myself included) would love to see pics of the truck he refers to often.

1934 Packard V12, custom body by Dietrich, one of three known to exist.
1962 Bentley Continental Flying Spur, custom body by Hooper, the only one made.
I have other stuff, but the Packard alone is worth over 7 figures EZ. The Bentley is worth 150-200K.

The best find I ever made was around 1962/63, in a chicken coop behind a house in West LA, an all original but rather tired looking 1934 Packard V12 All Weather Landaulet, custom body by Rollston, original owner: Charlie Chaplin.
The old battleaxe owner (how she got it I dunno) wanted 5 GRAND. I pleaded with my dad to loan me the money, but as a car dealer, he said..that old turd will never be worth that much!
The car is still around, the last time it sold was for well over TWO million bucks, and that was 20 years ago.

Take that rig to a park put a bag over the plates and take a picture of it bill! We're not gonna quit buggin you til you do. Besides these are not the vehicle kids are out to steal heck my kid can't even figure out where the choke is. I had to help the tire guy cause he couldn't find the ignition and mine doesn't go anywhere til it's warm if someone did try I'd have time for a cup of coffee, get dressed, load the gun, let the dogs out, and then wander out to see if they need any help.

I have asked Bill the same question a while ago and I got the same answer with same reasoning...I totally understand his POV....So Cal being close to mexico makes for a fast disappearance of a car if a crook wants something that bad...
I read a story several months ago about a guy who had had a 71 or 2 StingRay 'vette and was stolen YEARS ago...when the car was very young...anyway, a some guy sold it and in the process of customs doing their thorough job discovered the car was reported stolen...blah blah blah...long story short...the original owner got his car back some 20 plus years after it disappeared...
While our trucks arent a Corvette, we still love them just the same and being ripped off is IMO the ultimate violation of ones personal space with the 1 obvious exception....
You ever notice that on COPS and many other reality shows the plates get clouded over....makes perfect sense to me......
