Fluctuating Heat when Cold
OK, here's a weird one. I have a 92 F250 Diesel. When it's cold out, (below 20, which it has been for months it seems like), after firing the truck up, it will start to warm up, the temp guage will hang up on the low mark, and only cold air will come from the heater. After a few minutes, the temp guage will rise to the high mark, hot air will start coming out of the vents and it will drop to a normal level. After a few minutes, it will start blowing cold, guage will rise, ect, ect. It will do this 3 or 4 times then it will be good for the rest of the drive. Could it be a bubble in the system? Faulty thermostat? something else? I'd like to get a good handle on it since I don't have a heated shop and will be working on it in 20 degree weather :-) Thanks in advance for any help!!!!

Don't forget to check for a leak, just in case. If your truck is like mine, you'll lose water and won't have clue where it's going. I check my water every 2 weeks and add 50/50 mix aleast once a month or more and have checked all over my truck for leaks and even had it pressure tested and couldn't find a leak. So, I have no idea where my water is going.
