Any way I have a 1992 Bronco 302 manual trans that i wrecked a couple years ago... I am looking at buying a 93 (302 AT) for parts (body panels & engine). Before I make the deal i want to be certain the the engine will bolt up.
So the question will a 93 302 that was paired to a E4OD mount to the Mazda 5 speed that came in my 92 (originally bolted to a 302 as well).
I know that i will need to swap the fly wheel form my engine to the replacement (as well as the pilot bushing) I am mainly wondering if the bell housing bolt patterns are the same for the AT & MT
Yep, the flywheel is the concern. Otherwise the swap is one for one. The M5OD and E4OD will both bolt up. Interesting that you should ask. I am in the process of transplanting an M5 from a 92 F-150 into my '93. I was going to keep the 302 that's been in it but the 300 in the F-150 pulls like the Budweiser Clydesdale 8-horse hitch team so I'm seriously considering swapping both engine AND tranny.

I bought the truck today, and i'll sign the paperwork tomorrow... 1993 XLT 5.0/E4OD... I'll be swapping the engine and some body panels onto my 1992 starting later this spring (whenever ID thaws out)... I can't wait to be Bronco ridin again!!!
You can fool the PCM into "thinking" the (now phantom) E4OD is in a "moving gear". You will need to take a voltage reading across the MLPS with the engine running and the truck in "Drive". Or you can look up which pins of the PCM are input from the MLPS and take the reading there. Once you know what the voltage is coming back to the PCM from the MLPS with the E4OD in a moving gear, you should be able to put a resistor inline in place of the MLPS in the wiring harness and the PCM will function as though the vehicle is always in drive. If you are concerned about warm-up period you can put a switch in line with the resistor and flip the switch on once the engine has warmed up. This essentially does what the MLPS would do when you select a moving gear.
b4hntn and I have been discussing the idea of dismembering an MLPS or at the very least taking all of the voltage readings from it in each gear so that we can actually know what voltage SHOULD be going back to the PCM from it depending upon which gear is selected. Neither of us has gotten to it yet so alas, I can't tell you what the voltage reading should be.
I was planning and keeping the PCM of the 1992 (original truck w/ the M5OD) so this shouldn't be an issue, correct?... I basically want the 302 out of the 93 (new truck) because the original is dead...
If you are swapping into the 92 you are fine with the PCM and everything there in the 92. If you are swapping into the 93 you will need the 92 PCM and all the associated wiring to make it work with the 5spd.
