I've been using ether to start my truck in the mornings im just doing this for maybe a couple more weeks until I figure out why it's not starting I put brand new glow plugs in it. Will this hurt my engine any?

It is not recommended It is easy to do some wallet emptying damage.
But if you are going to do it disable your gp's so they can't accidently come on.
Do not remove air cleaner and spray directly into intake.
It only takes a whiff to start.
If your motor sounds like the battery is low lrt of the key quick and wait for a little while you have sprayed to much and forcing it can be costly.

Twin34,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.

Let's see if we can figure out what the glow plug problem is.

What brand of glow plugs are you using?

Does the wait to start light come on any at all?

you said fresh plow plugs installed, but what type are they?? most glow plugs are garbage and burn out within the first week of use, and some swell the tips, requiring the removal of the heads to take them out after they die.

Do you hear a clicking noise from under the hood. If not them possibly the controller is bad/not getting power.
