Say I have the opportunity to pick up some 15" factory grey spoked wheels with chrome trim rings, caps, and nuts along with 4 nearly new Firestones (extra load) for around $500 (It's a good price, right?). First, they are from (I believe) a '90s F150 and mine is an '82 F150. The bolt patterns should match, right? Second, I'm thinking of painting the grey spokes a brown to match my body color, what do you think? Feedback is welcome!!!

You don't say what's the tire, and rims size are,
but i think $500 is kind of high price, you may buy your rims (crome) for about $45 each and the tires just guessing that they be in the range 235/75 R15(stock) to 31x10.5 R15 from fireston shoud be from 70 to 90 bucs a piece so your talking about 120 to 150 each,so make your math and i thing i'll go for the new stuff, if you nead some advice for where to buy, fell free to e-mail me.
Good Luck

I priced the tires out locally and for a new set mounted on my rims, it would run about $450. I've never seen the chrome rims for $45, but the spoked, heavy duty Ford rims retail for over $100 each, the chrome trim rings run from $25 each to $55 each depending on the size and quality and the center pieces run $35-$45 each. The value of the entire package new would run over a $1000 and could be as high as $1400. Two tires (235R75 15) are supposed to have 2k miles while the other tires are new. All the material is supposed to be in 'A-1' condition.

I don't now where'r u looking that high prices

here you find cheep wheels, and i dont now if there is a Cotsco store near you, they have realy good prices on tires, i get mine 275/6 R15 for lees than 50 a pice they are Uniroyal tiger Paws,
and i saw the fireston AT runing abount 70.

I haven't had any problems with warranty work on tires before. The standard tread warranty will cover no matter who owns them. The heavy duty spoked factory rims can only be purchased from Ford, so that's where I priced them and remember I priced the tires mounted on the rims. I appreciate pointing toward your internet site. I tried to price the actual value of what was for sale, but I also need to consider the value of what I feel I need and that's where I need to do some shopping around. They've got some good prices and it gives me a great spot for alternatives. Notice, though, that even a set of good chrome lug nuts are $25 for a set of 4. I'll be getting a total of 40 lug nuts (brand new w/extra set of 20), so even that comes out to $250 and I hadn't really figured them in yet.
Thanks,
Steve

If they are the look and size you want, you cant hardly go wrong with wheels and Tires at all 4 corners for $500.I just traded a set of 4 Firestones LT235/75R16 with about 5k for $500 worth of body work on my Jeep(for the tires alone).Im not that familiar with the factory wheels your discribing, but factory wheels if nothing else are usually very strong. If they arent what your really looking for you should probably save a few hundred more, you can usually get a decent package deal for about $900,from any of the big catalog companies, most of the package deals can be bargained to include lugs, and hub covers, but will have a shipping charge.

That price is too high. If they are a factory size tire you could get a new set for about $450. Used they should go for about $225, $250 max. As far as the wheel/trim ring/ center cap set up, I have seen them in the newpaper for $100 for the complete set. Shop around.

Hey Steve,
$500 for all that stuff is a good deal to me, I don't know how you can go wrong at $125 per foot, unless the guy misrepensents his products, or the shippin' is too high. I would really like to see somrone sellin' something cheaper but I don't think that's likely.
I have worn out michlen XCH4's, LT235/75 15's on 7" rims. I'm wondering if 265/65's will fit on 7" rims. The 235/75's stand taller than I would like, but I'm not sure how a smaller circumferance tire will work with all my highway drivin'. Right now I'm turning 75mph at 3000 rpm.
Any opinion?
Oh no, my wife drove the truck today and she likes it, crap.
See Ya,

Yeah, I finally said go ahead and find out what shipping is and let's go for it. But, he must have found a less complex deal. I haven't heard from the guy for a while so I assume he sold the set locally.

Steve,
I have a set of 4 BFG ATs with excelent tread, and a 5th with good tread(spare).I removed them from my Jeep with only about 7K on them when I went to 33 x 10.5 Swampers. They are 30 x 9.5.They have been sitting in my construction trailer, and I was thinking about selling them before this project is complete so I dont have to pack em and take em with me,to my next project.I am also changing the wheels(4 / 15 x 8 American racing Outlaws, with some scratches and dings) in about a week or so,as soon as my new wheels are complete,(they are Bead Locks being manufactured by Stockton Wheel).I dont beleive the 5 lug bolt pattern is the same though, from the Ford to the Jeep.I am not sure what the shipping would be for the tires,I am in central California in the Yosemite area,(soon to be moving to Ft Collins Colorado,I beleive). If you are interested,E-mail me at super@sierratel.com
