I`m just about finished rebuilding my 312 and ready to paint. I know what color I painting the engine.
What I`d like to see is your y block all painted up (on engine stand or in engine bay). More than anything I want to see your color combinations, ie:
What you painted or didn`t, aluminum parts, etc.
So, come on, Lets see them all. I think we all would enjoy seeing your engine
Thanks.
come on, someone must have some pictures of their Y block that their
proud to show off. I just put some pics of my uncompleted engine in my gallery. Give me some suggestions
I don't have any to show but here is one borrowed ffom the Col Flashman, hope you don't mind Col but he says he wants to see some picsIt is a pretty one.
I really like the way you mounted your alternator on your y block . Hope you don't mind , I`m going to steal your application idea. Maybe change it a little.
Its always a good idea to read the text on any pictures. If you had, you would have read that the paint was a self etching primer. May look a little blue, but its actually a shade of green. Really sorry you don't like the primer color. Also stated this thread is about color combinations not color. Have a nice day.

No where in VBarker's "Gallery" is there any kind of reference to the colour of His engine block, which is the Incorrect Ford Blue for the era of His Y-Block, but not for engine blocks from '65 on.
Now if I were discussing Your engine, I would have responded to a post made specifically by you, Not specifically by VBarker after Viewing his "Gallery". A simple misunderstanding on your part, anyone could have made it.
Now I'll have a peak @ Your "Gallery" to see what You are writing about.
I'm back & have just taken a look see @ Your "Gallery", the colour looks like an Olive Drab Green, were you in the U.S. Army?
Ford Yellow is the correct colour for a Y-Block for a Truck from '56 as shown in the Picture above borrowed from my "Gallery" by 56PanelFord.
Col,
Ya, Col, I was in the Army a few years ago. Was a wide eyed WO that saw a lot of Germany in a H-34, back in 1956 - 1959. I have a lot of respect for anyone that wants the original engine color in their truck. I also have a lot of respect for anyone who is happy with whatever color they want other than original. My `57 312ci is going to be the same color as my chassis and exterior color. This thread is about painting the different parts, ie: intake manifold, fuel pump, water pump, etc, contrasting colors. Thanks for your input.
