Does anyone know what the height measurement for a set of stock coil springs for a '84 F-150 4X4 with the 300 six engine off the truck should be? I need to check and see how much mine are sagging before I pay to have shims installed to adjust my camber angle. Mechanic said I might be able to correct it with a new set of springs. Thanks for your help.
If your wheels are splayed out at the bottom your coil springs are weak and should be replaced. That is unless your wheel bearings are real bad. Drive the truck forward to a place where you can get out and back off a little distance in front of the truck and look at the tires. I say drive the truck forward because when you back up a coil spring TTB front end, it ***** the wheels out at the bottom for some reason. Then you pull forward they straighten right up.
