wiring probs.. help please!!!
i'm a newbie to this forum.. just bought a 1973 f100 ranger with a 360 for 700 bux. body is in great shape and engine runs good aside from needing carb rebuild. problems with wiring tho.. passenger headlamp stays on even if switched off.. also interior lights only come on if ac is switched on. also starter stays engaged with key on position. have so far changed the headlight switch, starter solenoid, starter switch and also reinforced the engine ground. i have replaced all the bulbs in the instrument cluster. can see a lot of butt connectors on the wires behind the cluster witch tells me someone has screwed with them a bit. i have bought a haynes manual for 73-79 ford trucks yet the wiring diag for 73 is not there... anyone have any ideas of where i can get a reliable diagram? thought about going the Painless Wiring route but only as a last resort. i know a couple mechanics; just weary of letting anyone else mess it up any more than it already is and double charge me at the same time. and help or info would be greatly appreciated. i plan on restoring this and i figured the wiring would be the first thing to knock out. will post pics as soon as this headache is gone
