Lost part?
I was fixing some oil leaks on my truck today when I pulled the distrubtor out to get the intake off, not to mention pushrods and so on ( FE ). well when the dizzy came out I heard a clank inside and I cant see the oil rod down there so I think I might have lost it inside. would my best bet just to take the oil pan off and fish it out that way or could it have fell between the timing chain.

The SOP at Ford dealerships was just to leave in the pan, then install a new one.
I'm not saying to do that, but that's exactly what line mechanics at Ford dealerships did.
If it's laying flat in the oil pan, it's not going anywhere.
