I"m interested in trying to find an aftermarket rear bumper that has backup lights integrated into the bumper itself. I'm trying to avoid mounting lights under my bumper or on the sides of my hitch mount only b/c i plow w/ the truck and it's inevitable that i will back into some snowbanks b/c i have some pretty tight parking lots to manuever in and i don't feel like tearing a light off. I've had lights mounted on a headache rack before in other trucks but the lights basically lit up my bed better than the area behind my truck.
I've done a little research online and the ones i have looked at so far are extremely heavy duty and expensive. Anyone have any idea where to find a reasonably priced set up?? Or better yet does anyone have some pics of their setups on their trucks when it comes to auxillary back up lights??? I'm really more concerned w/ functionality of the lights than i am w/ the strength of the bumper.
The Ranch Hand rear bumper is a great bumber, their lights look kind of weak though. For your application, I think DCSpecial has the right idea! I may look in to doing that to mine. Hey DC, got any daytime pics?
I made the "bezel" out of steel plate to match the shape of the light. Then I cut the bumper, welded in said bezel, smoothed everything, prep and finally paint.
