Well, I started my new year great. Go out to the truck to head to work and notice my door's unlocked. Seems strange since my truck's always locked. I notice my $250.00 MX helmet is gone, then look down and where my stereo once was is now just wires. Luckily they just unplugged it. Then I looked more and my digital camera and all my CD's are gone. The thieves just opened the rear sliding window and unlocked the door, so no broken windows. Also, where the stereo was is a ragged hole that no new stereo will fit into. So, called and filed police report and insurance claim. Turns out the stereo and dash panel are the only thing covered under vehicle insurance. The rest is under homeowners insurance, but the home owner's deductable is more than the value of all objects stolen. So, I get a new stereo and dash, but I'll have to buy a new helmet, camera and CD's.
I hate theives. Get a job and earn your own stuff instead of stealing from others that do. The biggest thing is I just watched the movie "seven pounds" with Will Smith. Kinda makes you feel like there are some good people still out there. Then, next day, stuff like this happens.
Having your stuff stolen is never a good feeling. Hope the insurance covers it and you can get a nicer stereo now.
Well, they're supposed to call me and ask me questions about my stereo so they can match me up with another one that is as close to possible as the one that was stolen. My deductible is $100.00, so I pay the 1st $100.00 and they pay the rest, so it'll probably be a $105.00 stereo. Honestly, I don't care though. As long as the stereo and CD player work, all is good. After this, I really don't want anything nice in the truck for fear that it'll get stolen again. They left the speakers, so all I need is a head unit. None of the wires were cut, but the dash is torn up pretty good where the stereo was so the estimate guy is supposed to get ahold of me next week to see the damage and hopefully arrange a check for a new dash panel.
Man that sux a$$!!!!! I wish I could get at the bass turds!!!
If you need a helmet I have a good one you can use, I sold the bike a few years ago.
Thanks for the offer Chad. I have another helmet I can use to ride with, but that was the first fancy, really nice, high dollar helmet I've bought and really liked the fit. I've got a $40.00 certificate for my next purchase at Nmotion powersports, so I'll probably just buy another one from them closer to Spring.
That's a bite about the stuff and truck. Hope they catch the low lifes and maybe we could had a Kansas Chapter meeting with them to discuss the virtues of Ford trucks and the terrible things that happen to people that mess with their trucks.
had the same thing happen to my car when I moved to Topeka. The police told me that was the welcoming committee.
in a town the size of wichita, I think I would consider a am/fm stereo with a usb port, and then just download your music to a thumb drive and take the thumb drive inside with you and keep your new CD collection safe.
It was on the street in front of the house. I already transferred all the pics over to my pc, so no pics on the camera. I'm not as upset about the property itself that was stolen as much as I am that somebody broke into it and took my stuff that I work hard for. Put some of that effort into something productive and get your own stuff.
I hear ya man, I just plain SUCKS!! You work hard and scrape up enough dough to treat yourself to something really nice like your helmet and some jerk thinks he needs it more than you do. Although, on second thought, if we ever find the dude he might be in need of a sturdy helmet lol.

We decided that it will by Chad, Jack and Myself going after these guys......Chad will give them the "touch of death" and I will break all their fingers, then when we are all done, Mad Jack will just shoot them lol.
It is hard to hold down a job if you are smokin Crack. Not many places will keep you on and it is hard to earn enough to pay for the stuff.
So true LOL. I just got a call this afternoon and the new stereo is on the way. It won't have a usb port, but it does have an mp3 player port, so I just need a cheap mp3 player and start transferring songs to it. They're even giving me an install kit and a $40.00 voucher for the install. The guy said if it's more than $40.00 to have the install shop call them because they have some "cushion" on the $40.00.
