I own a '91 F250 and am wondering if anyone has tried the following setup. I am going to buy some different wheels and tires for it. The tires on it are 235/85/R16. From what I can tell, the 235/85s are approximately 32 inches tall. Based on this fact I don't think 33" tires would require a lift to fit in the wheel-wells. However, I am not sure if the 12½ inch wide tire would fit without rubbing when turned sharply. Has anyone tried this setup without a lift?
The 33/12.50s will rub the front bumper. The bumper is adjustible for height. Raise your bumper up and shim it out a little. You might also concider 33/10.50s from BF Goodrich. Its a new size for them to cater to just your situation.
uhh, what the heck are you talking about. I have 33 12.50s and they dont come anywhere near the bumper. They will rub the radius arms wheen the steering is hard over though, but you can adjust the stops and then your home free.

Shouldnt make a difference. I was looking at a 250 the other day, he had 33 12.50s, and they came nowhere near the bumper.

Mine has a 3 in ch body lift, but the bumper is attatched to the frame, and its in the same place. The 250 i saw didnt have a lift. Maybe there are different bumpers?

I don't know about rubbing the bumper, I've got an 86 F250 4x4 with 285/75 BFG A/T's on 16/7.5
Outlaw ll wheels that don't come anywhere near the bumper, but do rub against the radius arm in a hard turn....
keep in mind that the rim width makes a difference.
the wider the rim, the shorter and wider the tire sits....narrow rim..the tire sits taller...if your rims are after market chances are the have a bigger offset to the outside of the truck so that'll make tires run closer when turning.....
Now that the motor is back in the truck, it is understandably setting lower in front than when it was out. I can see now that the bumper would definitely be in the way of a tire that wide. Here's my question. Would adding a leaf in front (advertised to add 1 to 1½" to height of vehicle) make enough room for these tires?
