wiring confusion
OK, me the new guy again. Ran into a little confusion when reading some other articles about swapping from SD to MAF. Like I stated before I have a donor 302 out of an 87 f150 with all the wiring. I am going to swap this into my 90 f150 that has I6 300. Some of the guys were talking about the wiring from the 87 model truck having a seperate harness for the engine and chasis, versus my 90 that has the two harnesses linked together. Is it going to be difficult for me to sort out the wiring and adapt the 87's to my 90. Should I just try to get the wiring from a 90 and use it on my 87 motor or will this even work. Any suggestions or personal experience help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

The harness from a 90 302 should work fine on the 87 engine. It should be plug and play, but it may still be worthwhile to double check the wire functions at the connectors where it integrates into the chassis harness. The 87 does have a separate engine harness that has just a couple connectors linking it to the chassis harness, but if that's all you have to work with, I don't see why you couldn't get it to work on the 90 chassis either.
