Crankshaft position sensor

I am chasing a no spark condition. 1996, F150, 4.9L, After dropping the bolt for the distributor, I am layin under the truck and notice the crankshaft position sensor. The first thing I wonder is: Why isn't this mentioned in the Haynes manual? The next thing I'm wondering is: Is this for the fuel or the spark? The next thing I'm wondering is: Is this my problem? Anybody got any information on this part? And I thought I would have it running in 2008... SHeeeeeezzzzzzzz Have a great New Year!!!

It can be for both the fuel and the spark. If you keep staring at different parts of the engine, you will find lots of interesting sensors that you can spend lots of money just changing out. You need to scan for codes from the computer, and if there is a problem with a sensor, including the crankshaft position sensor, it will give you a code.
