I have to agree that the 78-79 models are the best. A long time ago we had a 78 on a seismic crew that I worked with. That thing, bone stock, ran in and out of more "situations" in two years than most 4x4s see before they hit the scrapyard. It is the reason that I bought the 75 that I drove into the ground.
That old 78 met it's match one day when the flagman (survey crew) didn't see the concrete culvert in the weeds beside the dirt road. Knocked the front axle out from under it. They replaced it with an 81. Another great rig but not quite as stout as the 78 and nowhere near as good-looking.
I have a 92 and 95 right now along with the 75. I'd love to have a 78 or 79 but right now I have 6 vehicles and there's still only one of me.
